The school has two departments; English and Japanese. English department’s major program is Modern English. Students are trained in listening, speaking, reading and writing. During the first and second years, the students are also required to study Chinese language and composition in order to improve their Chinese writing skills, and during their third and fourth years they are required to take up a second language.

Degree requirements: four years of study with a minimum of 150 credits, which are distributed as follows:

The department is equipped with a language lab and applicable media. Since 1980, the department has invited a number of foreign faculties from the United States, Great Britain, Canada and Japan. Some of the Chinese faculty has been sent abroad to study in the United States, Canada, Singapore, England and Japan.
